Triple Drama (4)
Everybody wants to go to Hell Fire. Picture is of Megan.
"Did Alex apologize to you," Bree asked on the phone. Aislinn had got home and found a message from Bree telling her to call.
"No," Aislinn said.
"He didn't! Why that-"
"Don't worry, besides it is a good thing he wasn't there or he'd just ruin the whole thing," Aislinn said, cutting Bree off.
"Ruin what whole thing?" Bree asked suspiciously.
"When I ran to the park I met this really sweet guy, Reggie. Thank god Alex wasn't there or he would probably embarrass me in front of him too."
"Ooh, was he cute?" Bree asked eagerly. Aislinn knew that Bree was already thinking about Reggie as her new boyfriend.
"Well, yeah. But I think he likes a friend of his," Aislinn said, remembering how affectionately he had spoken about Bailey.
"What friend? Was she with him at the park?" Bree asked, impatiently.
"Her name is Bailey and I didn't get to meet her. And I don't think we'll ever see him again anyway, I don't even know who is and if he goes to our school or not." Most people who lived near the park went to her school. "For all I know, he may not even go to school because if he did, he wouldn't be at the park during school hours." She signed. She knew it was all true but she couldn't help but hope she'd see him again.
He would be such a comfort, she thought. And maybe he'd keep Alex off my back.
"That's too bad." Bree sounded really disappointed but she recovered fast. "But we don't have time for misery. Your birthday's just around the corner and we're going to rock it. Besides, it's your sweet 17th birthday!"
"You're right." Aislinn said, cheering up. "And I have a feeling that this birthday's going to be super special!"

Nicole was feeling really glum. She sighed and started to eat his lunch slowly. She and Megan were in the canteen, sitting alone on a corner table. Her first day at school had gone better that she had thought. Even her teachers were already looking at her like the student star, but she realized that besides Megan and Danny, kind of, she still had no friends.
"What's wrong? The lunch isn't that bad today," Megan said, noticing her gloomy face.
"No, it's not the lunch." Nicole hesitated a little before saying,"It's going to be my 17th birthday and for the first time I'm going to spend it without my old friends."
"What!? It's going to be your birthday and you didn't even mention a hint about it!" Megan exclaimed. "Nicky, you're going to be seventeen! That can only mean one thing: A Party!"
"But Megan, we can't have a party with only two people," Nicole pointed out reasonably.
Megan dismissed her point with a little wave. "Who needs people to party with when you're in a club!"
"A club?" Nicole's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? My parents wouldn't let me even if you gave them a million dollar check!"
"Come on! They can't be that bad. Besides you could just say that you're going to my home. They can't say no to that on your birthday, can they?"
Nicole thought about it. "You're right but I can't lie to them. I'm a horrible lair. They'll know I'm lying."
"Leave it to me," Megan said. A glint in her eyes. "I'll convince them. You just follow my lead."
Nicole shook her head. Megan is crazy, she thought. But so would I, if I don't take this chance.
She took a deep breath. "I know I'm going to regret this but let's give it a shot."
"Yay!" Megan cheered.
*****************************************************************************
There she is, Alex thought as he entered the canteen. And Bree's not with her. I wonder why. He saw that Aislinn wasn't with Bree but instead a tall, dark-haired girl.
Come on, Alex. You can do this. It's not so hard saying sorry, he thought, taking a deep breath. Here I go.
He walked over to them. "Hi, Aislinn." He tried to sound casual but his voice was a little shaky, even to himself. What are you doing! Get a grip on yourself. Alex kicked himself mentally.
"Aislinn?" She said, sounding confused. She turned to the girl beside her. "I can't believe this is happening again. I must look like this Aislinn a lot."
"Yeah!" The dark-haired girl beside her said, surprised.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Alex asked. He couldn't understand what they were saying. "I just came to say sorry about yesterday." There I said it, he thought.
"I'm sorry but I'm not Aislinn, whoever she is. My name is Nicole," she said. She felt as if she should just put a sign herself that said, "I Am Nicole."
"But you-" Alex started to say but Nicole cut him off.
"Look just like her. I know."
Alex didn't know if she was joking or not. Then he noticed that her clothes weren't as dressy as usual and she hadn't put on even a little bit of makeup. Even her hair were just in a simple ponytail and she wasn't wearing heels like usual.
"Sorry about that. My mistake. I'm Alex," he said.
"No problem. You already know me and this is my friend, Megan." Megan smiled and said, "Hi."
"I should go now. Bye." He walked away, looking disappointed.
"Poor guy, he looks really desperate to find Aislinn." Megan said.
"You know what, I'm starting to wonder who this girl, Aislinn is," Nicole said. "She's obviously popular. Most guys here smile and wave at me, I think that they think I'm Aislinn."
"Well we can find that out later. Because I know the perfect club for us to go to. It just opened up. 'Hell Fire'."
"That sounds wild even by its name." Nicole said, nervously.
Megan grinned and her eyes sparkled. "That's why we're going."
*****************************************************************************
Aislinn was relived that nobody at lunch said nothing about yesterday. Not even Danny. She was sitting in the canteen at their usual corner table. Best of all she had managed to avoid Alex all day.
"Aislinn, I've got the perfect idea for your birthday," Bree said, excited.
"Yeah," Danny said. "You know that new club that just opened."
"Hell Fire, I think." Aislinn vaguely remembered someone mention its name.
"We're going there."
"What? Do you think my parents would let me?" Aislinn asked, though she felt excited about the idea of going there.
"Why don't you just tell them that you're at Bree's home. You do go to each other's home a lot," Danny suggested. Every one agreed.
"Hell Fire, it is!" Aislinn said.
*****************************************************************************
"But Blair it's your 17th birthday. Don't you want to celebrate it?" Reggie asked. They were outside in the school's courtyard during lunch. Under a huge shady tree where they usually ate their lunch. As usual no one noticed them and they preferred it that way.
"I would but what?" Blair asked.
Reggie thought about it for a moment, then a grin slowly stretched on his face.
"Well, what?" Blair asked impatiently. She knew he was on to something.
"Remember that new club that just opened?" He asked.
"You mean Hell Fire?"
"Yeah!"
Blair thought about it. It was probably one of the most craziest place to be. Reggie waited with a hopeful expression on his face.
"I don't think that's a good idea," she said. Reggie's face fell. "But I'm still going to go!" She grinned.

Triple Drama (5)
Nicole sees all the different sides of Daniel. Pic of Daniel.
She's in my Geography class and I didn't even notice, Daniel thought that day when he entered class after lunch. Nicole was sitting on one of the front seats with Megan. Danny passed her seat but she didn't even look at him. He felt his self-esteem going down.
Mrs. Brown entered the class and everyone grew silent.
"Students, today we will be doing a project. Each of you will be assigned a partner by me. The project..." She droned on but Danny didn't catch any of it. He was staring at Nicole who was listening intently.
"Mr. Clifte, will you please pay attention," Mrs. Brown's stern voice broke through Danny's thoughts. Everyone turned back and looked at him. Some of them snickering. Nicole just took one look at him then turned back again before Danny could read her expression.
"Your grades have hardly been satisfactory." Like I don't know, "And if you want to pass this year, you will need to work hard on this project. It covers 30% of your grade." Then she turned to Nicole. "Miss Stanley, you will be his partner for this project. It would be nice to see him pass in my class."
Nicole looked startled at being called out. Danny couldn't believe it. Not only would he get to spend time with her but he would also get a good grade for it.
"Do I have to be his partner?" Nicole asked. Danny's eyes widened and nearly his mouth too. No girl, he thought, would have rejected me as her partner.
"Sorry Miss Stanley but it would very kind of you to help him." Mrs. Brown sounded a little desperate. She was clearly horrified at the thought of teaching him again next year.
"Now class, I will read out your partners," Mrs. Brown continued without giving Nicole a chance to refuse or come up with an excuse. After assigning everyone partners, Mrs. Brown told the class more about the project then gave everyone time to discuss their topic.
Nicole was doing all the talking but Danny couldn't concentrate. Although Nicole looked completely identical to Aislinn, there was just something different in her beautiful hazel eyes. She reminded Danny of an angel.
It took Danny a minute to realize that Nicole had stopped talking. "Have you even been listening to a word I've said?" Nicole asked, annoyed.
"Sure I have." Danny lied.
Nicole sighed, frustrated. "Whatever. Just meet me in the library after school."
"Why the library? I can't go there." Danny said.
"What's the problem with libraries? Did they kick you out?" Nicole asked skeptically.
"They can't kick a person out who's never gone in." Danny replied.
Nicole looked amazed then recovered. "There's a first time for everything."
"But what if someone sees me there?"
"So?"
Danny looked at her as if she had asked the most stupidest question in the world. "My reputation would be ruined," he said in an obvious tone.
Nicole was so amused at his reply that she couldn't even laugh. "You're impossible." Danny looked confused but the bell rang before he could say anything. Nicole picked up her things and walked over to Megan. Just like last time she walked away and left Danny staring at her.
**********************************************************************
"Yeah and-" Aislinn stopped suddenly. She had been talking to Bree and her friend, Kelly when she saw a familiar figure. It can't be, she thought. But the guy looked too familiar.
"Guys, I'll see you later." Bree and Kelly looked surprised but Aislinn didn't notice as she walked away.
It can't be him. I must be imagining it, she thought but still she had to see it with her own eyes.
He was talking to a red-haired girl. Hair just the same color as mine, Aislinn noticed. Her back was to her so Aislinn couldn't see her face. The girl walked away while he started walking in the other direction.
"Reggie, wait!" She called out to him. He stopped and turned towards her. For a moment he looked confused then recognition dawn on his face.
"Aislinn, is that you?" He asked when she caught up to him.
"Yeah, I can't believe you go to Avon High School!"
Reggie laughed. "I was just about to ask you the same thing."
"How come I've never noticed you before in school?" She would surely have noticed him once.
"That's 'cause I mostly ditch school with Bailey."
"She goes to our school too?"
"Yeah."
Aislinn couldn't believe it. Then she suddenly remembered her birthday.
"Hey, I still haven't thanked you for last time we met," she said.
"I didn't do anything or believe me, I'd take credit for it," Reggie said, grinning.
"I don't care whether you think so or not. But I know the perfect way to thank you. Don't say no until you let me complete," Aislinn could see he was about to argue, but then he shut his mouth. Aislinn continued, "Me and my friends are celebrating my seventeenth birthday at Hell Fire on Saturday. Please say you'll come."
Reggie looked really surprised. "Me and Bailey, we going there-"
"Bring Bailey too. I would love to meet her." Aislinn said, cutting him off. She was curious about the girl.
Reggie smiled. "Since you're insisting, I'll be there."
**********************************************************************
There he is, Alex thought. Again. It's frustrating how he always beats me to Aislinn. Aislinn was standing and talking excitedly with the park guy again.
Alex had been trying to get to her all day, but she kept getting away. Alex was 99.9% sure that it was on purpose. The broad dark-haired guy and Aislinn went in different directions. Aislinn didn't seem to be attentive, she was smiling and didn't seem to notice Alex.
This is my chance. Maybe she's lost enough to hear me out, he thought. Sure enough Aislinn didn't notice him until he was right in front of her. She felt tempted to dodge him but she knew he'd find her sooner or later.
"Aislinn, I-" He started to say but she cut him off before he could say anything else.
"Whatever you want to say leave it. I don't know what you have against me," he looked as if he wanted to say something but she didn't give him a chance. "But I want to start fresh. I don't know about you but I want to. So, it's my birthday on Saturday. I would like you to celebrate it with me and my friends at Hell Fire."
She had said that very quickly and walked away before Alex could even react. He stared after her for a good ten seconds before he could move again. What, he thought, just happened right now?
Aislinn had no idea why she had thought about inviting him to her birthday, but somehow it seemed like the right thing to do. I hope so, she thought.
**********************************************************************
Nicole hurried to the library, pushing her way through the students in her way. As soon as final bell rang, everybody almost raced to exit door. It's as if they would die if they stayed any longer, she thought, forcing her way though. She was a little late because Miss Barbara had asked her to carry some books. The students in her way were making her even more late.
She finally reached the library. She hoped Daniel hadn't been waiting for long. She looked around but she didn't see him anywhere. A few students were only to be seen. Nicole went to different sections of the library until she came to the last section. She was surprised to see that someone was reading a book there. Something about the guy seemed familiar to Nicole. He was wearing round black framed glass and was intently reading a novel. His blond brown hair hid his face. With a start, she realized who it was.
No way, she thought, amazed. It can't be!
"Daniel? Is that really you?" She asked, stepping forward for a closer look. He had been reading so intently that he literally jumped at his name. He looked up and his face was completely panicked. It was so strange to see him like that. He always kept his cool. He looks so cute without that obnoxious attitude, she thought. Suddenly, she realized that she had just called Daniel cute. Wait, she thought. I can't have just called him cute, did I?
Looking more closely, she saw the name of the book. It was 'Sense and Sensibility' by Jane Austen.
"You read Jane Austen's books?" She asked, amused.
"What? I - um - no. I - I was just, you know, looking around." He was stammering and his face was becoming completely red. He looked like a boy who had just been caught stealing from a cookie jar. It was too amusing.
"Sure, you were," Nicole said, skeptically. "And you wear glasses too?"
His eyes widened and he raised his hand to his face as if to see if he really was wearing glasses. He actually seemed surprised that he was. His expression was so comical that Nicole bit her lip to stop herself from laughing out loud. He quickly removed them. "No, I don't." He said, too quickly. "These are just for, you know, fun." He lied straight out.
"I can't believe that you're a fan of Jane Austen." Nicole said, deciding to excuse the glasses, for now. "No offense, but you don't even look like you've ever heard the name Jane Austen before."
"Shh... Not so loud!" Danny whispered loudly. He looked around to see if anyone had heard. No one was even near them. Thank God, I picked this section, he thought relieved. "Okay, so I read Jane Austen's dumb old books," his arms threw up in frustration. "Happy?"
"Sheesh, what's with the attitude. It's not bad if you do."
"Yes, it is." He answered immediately.
"Why?" She asked, amused and confused at the same time.
"Because it's girly," he stated, as-a-matter-of-factually. Nicole's eyebrows raised as she gave him a what-the-hell-did-you-just-say look.
Daniel sighed dramatically. For a smart girl, she sure is clueless, he thought. "If anyone found out that I read this stuff, my whole social life meaning my whole and only life would be ruined forever. I would never live it down. Speaking of which," his eyes suddenly narrowed down on her. "You'd better not tell anyone about this."
"Why would I agree to that," Nicole asked him, simply.
He looked shocked for a moment then his shock changed to anger. He looked at her, threateningly and stepped close to her until he was only a few inches away from her.
"Don't. Tell. Anyone. Understand?" He growled, drawing out each word separately.
Nicole froze for a moment. No guy had ever come this near to her. In an instant, she became angry. She pushed him away with her hand. "Don't come any closer than that and you don't order me around, got it?" She warned him, her voice commanding.
Daniel looked shocked then suddenly his expression became apologetic. His feelings sure change fast, Nicole thought, confused by his sudden mood changes.
"I'm sorry," he blurted out. "I shouldn't have done that. But please don't tell anyone." He looked her, pleading. He looked like a little boy again. Nicole already felt herself soften. Curse my soft heart, she scolded herself.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." She said. He looked relieved. Nicole couldn't help but tease him, just a little bit more. "Your deep dark little secret is safe with me." She added, grinning.
Surprisingly, he didn't become annoyed or angry instead he looked grateful. "Thanks. No one would let me forget it." Nicole rolled her eyes then looked at her wrist watch.
"We've already wasted a lot of time so let's just get started already."
"Do we have to?" Danny looked bored even at the mention of it. Nicole sensed problem. Desperate time call for drastic measures, she thought.
"Listen, I want an A+ on this assignment and I promise you that if you don't cooperate, I will tell everyone that you're a book nerd with round glasses." Her voice was both determined and threatening. Daniel looked at her in complete disbelief.
"I can't believe that someone like you can blackmail people," he said, shaking his head but a grin appeared when he looked at her. "I'm impressed."
Nicole rolled her eyes. "Get to work. Now." She ordered.
Soon, they started working. All thought Danny had been light-hearted about the threat, Nicole could see that he was taking it seriously. He looked serious for the first time and quietly did all the research. Nicole smiled in satisfaction. This guy was full of surprises.

Triple Drama (6)
It's going to be a long, but special night! Pic of Alexander.
Reggie kept thinking about Aislinn and Bailey. How can two people look exactly alike, are born on the same day, but don't know each other? He kept thinking. How can that be even possible? Maybe I should mention Aislinn to Bailey. Maybe she does know Ash, but didn't mention that to me. That wasn't likely, Blair had never kept anything a secret from him.
"Earth to Reggie," a voice suddenly broke through Reggie's thoughts.
"Huh?" He looked around to see Blair standing in front of him. At least he guessed it was Blair because she was wearing her usual black jeans and white turtleneck shirt.
Blair laughed at his startled expression. "Someone's thinking too hard. Relax your brain, besides how much pressure can a little thing like that take," she teased him. Usually Reggie would come up with a sharp restore, but he decided to let it go, for now.
"About Saturday," he began to say, as they walked outside the school gates." I met a friend today at school. I met her at the park that day. It's her birthday on Saturday too and she was wondering if we could join her at the club too."
Blair's face didn't show any emotion. She just asked, "What's her name and do I know her?"
"Her name's Aislinn. Do you know her?" Reggie looked carefully at her face, but there was still no reaction to his words.
"No, I don't think so. But maybe it would be nice to have some more people on my birthday. It's not like my mom's going to remember anyway." She was looking down now.
Reggie knew for sure that she was more disappointed at that fact than she was letting on. She used to break down when she talked about her mom, but it got better over the years. Better, but not completely. Hesitantly, Reggie took her hand and lifted her chin with his other hand. He placed a lock of her red hair behind her ear and gave her hand a squeeze.
Blair was shocked for a moment, but then she smiled at him. "Don't worry. I'm not spoiling this birthday for anything."
Reggie grinned. "Now that's the Blair I know," he said as he put his arm around her.

Alexander kept pacing in his room, thinking about Aislinn's birthday.Should I go? He kept wondering. It was no use trying to decide; doubts kept coming back. He was thinking so hard that he didn't even hear the door open.
"So, I'm guessing it's a girl." Jessica Mason, Alex's fourteen year old sister's voice broke into his thoughts.
"What?" Alex asked, he didn't hear the whole sentence.
"Who's the girl?" Jessica repeated, sounding exasperated.
"Why do you think it's a girl?"
"Duh, the I'm lost expression on your face," she replied. "So, who is it? What did you do?"
Alex sighed. Jessica was a mind reader when it came to him. That was probably why she knew and understood him better than anyone else. "It's Aislinn. And how do you know I did something?" He said, answering both questions.
"Knowing you to was pretty obvious."
"I teased her and now she thinks I hate her. But then she invites me to her birthday party tonight, so we can have a fresh start." He stated.
"So? Just go and tell her that you like her or she'll think that you really do hate her. Sheesh! And I thought it was a real problem."
Alex stared at her in amazement. She made it sound so easy. But then again, Jessica was an expert at dating and also on girls and boys both. "Jess, are you crazy? I don't have a crush on her." He blurted out.
Jess smirked. "I never said that you had a crush on her. I just said you like her."
Alex had no respond for that, so he changed the subject. "Anyway, I can't go. It the family reunion tonight." That, he thought, is the lamest excuse I've ever come up with.
She was probably thinking the same because she looked at him skeptically. "As if you love to have your cheeks pinched and kissed."
"Fine, you win. I'll go, but only for a while." He knew better than to disagree with her.
"Good, I love to win." She looked satisfied. "Oh, I just came to tell you that dinner's ready." She left.
I can't believe I spent this whole time thinking about Aislinn, that I forgot dinner. He usually had an enormous appetite. This proves that I should go or I'll never get my appetite back.

"Megan, are you sure you know what you're dealing with?" Nicole asked nervously.
Megan grinned mischievously. "Sure I do. Just let me do all the talking or your face is going to give us away." She was right, Nicole's face looked a bit pale. They were just outside Nicole's house.
Nicole opened the door with her spare key. She was surprised to see her parents' home already. Great, just when I thought I'd get some time to calm down, she thought.
"Hi, mom. Dad, this is my friend, Megan. Megan, these are my parents." Nicole hoped her parents didn't notice the nervous edge to her voice.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley." Megan greeted them politely. She shook hands with both of them. Nicole's dad looked impressed by her perfect manners. Megan even spent some time talking to them about her future plans for college. It's a good thing that she's smart, Nicole thought. Or she would never be able to answer their questions.
Nicole knew Megan was probably feeling bored, but her face revealed no sign of boredom. It's time to break up this meeting, she thought.
She nudged Megan, hoping she got to the point.
"Excuse me, but I wanted to ask you both something." Megan said, an innocent look on her face. If Nicole didn't know what her real intention was, even she would have been fooled.
"Go ahead," Mrs. Stanley said, already sounding like she would agree with her to anything in the world.
"Umm, I know it's Nicole birthday this Saturday," Megan began, sounding uncertain even to Nicole. "So, I was wondering if you would let her have a sleep over at my house?"
Nicole's parents looked at each other for a moment. It was their way of communicating. It was like communicating with their eyes. Nicole hated it when they did that; it drove her crazy.
But they only looked at each other for only a few moments, then they turned back to Megan with a smile. "Why not. It's Nicole's birthday after all."
Nicole tried hard to hide her relief - and nervousness. Megan just smiled politely and said, "Thank you so much."
"Come on, let's go." Nicole nudged Megan, giving her a look unseen by her parents. Megan winked and followed Nicole upstairs. As soon as Nicole shut the door, Megan burst into laughter. Her eyes were light with mischief and her mouth grinning. She looked nothing like the polite Megan her parents had just seen.
Nicole shook her head in disbelieve. "You're just amazing. Completely amazing."
"That was so totally easy! You're parents are a snap! I told you this was going to be easy." Megan said, smugly.
Nicole laughed. "Okay, so you win. Happy?"
Suddenly her phone rang. Nicole looked at the number. It was unknown. "Hello?"
"Hi, partner." Ugh, Nicole could almost see his grinning face.
"What do you want, Daniel." Nicole got straight to the point. As soon as Megan heard his name, she quickly snatched the phone and turned it on speaker mode. She wondered how he could have gotten her phone no. But one look at Megan's excited and much too innocent face told her everything. She would probably give my number to Danny but why would he ask for it, she thought. She realized that she wouldn't like to think why.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ask you, if you would assist me on Saturday night to Hell Fire. It's Aislinn's party." He sounded completely confident as if Nicole would never refuse. Megan's eyes widened. Say yes, say yes, say yes, she mouthed excitedly.
"Are you completely crazy? How could you even think about it!" Nicole said, shocked. Megan's mouth dropped.
"You didn't let me complete my offer. I'm sure you wouldn't refuse." Nicole did not like the certainty in his voice.
"Get to the point already." She couldn't stand not knowing what sort of plans he was stirring up.
"Well, my impatient date. If you refuse, I promise you'll get an F on our project-" He was cut off by Nicole.
"Do you really want me to tell people about you-know-what?" Nicole asked, amazed.
"You should really stop interrupting me." Nicole forced herself not to say anything. Satisfied, Daniel continued, "So, if you're not coming with me, then you probably not like the rumors people will be talking about."
"What rumors?" Nicole demanded, but inside her instincts told her that, she would not like to know.
"About me. And you. Dating." Danny replied simply, pausing in between to let the words sink in her.
"What?! But, we are not!" She did not like what he was getting at.
"And who will they believe? A newbie or a popular hot jock? One word from me and every one would be buzzing, probably in exaggerated form." His voice was as-a-matter-of-factually, but still carried a hint of smugness.
Nicole could not believe that he was blackmailing her back. She knew he was right. Even if she tried to tell anyone the truth, nobody would even listen to her. He took her silence as a conformation.
"You-" She started to say but stopped, not being able to find a word bad enough to say.
"Pick you up at 8. Bye." Danny cut off the phone without waiting for her reply. Nicole stared at the phone as if willing it to become Danny, so she could hit him as hard she could.
Megan was totally stunned during the conversation between them. She didn't seem to get Nicole's reaction. "Oh my God! Nicky, I can't believe you're going on a date with Danny!" She was practically jumping in excitement.
Nicole stared at her in disbelief. "What are you saying, Megan? I don't want to go out with that egoistic jerk. Not even in a million years!"
"Yes, you are." Megan grabbed her arm. "Think about it. We won't have to celebrate your birthday alone. We'll get to meet so many of his friends." Nicole still didn't look convinced. So Megan changed her strategy. "What about Aislinn? Don't you want to meet her? It's her party, after all."
Nicole had to admit it. She wanted to meet Aislinn. She was really curious about her. Besides, Danny will only be an addition to my birthday, although not a good one, she added. Maybe it won't be so bad. What's the worst that can happen?
She took a deep breath. "Okay, you're right. But what are we going to wear?"
Megan grinned and her eyes sparkled. Nicole could practically see her mind swirling with ideas. "Leave it all to me."

Aislinn and Bree had spent hours looking for their dresses at the mall, but Aislinn still hadn't chosen one. They came to the last shop in the mall.
"Come on! Ash, chose one already!" Bree complained, irritated.
"Umm... how about this one?" Aislinn held out a hot pink one. Bree didn't even look at the dress carefully.
"Just try it on!" She nearly pushed Aislinn into the dressing room. Whoa! Aislinn thought. Bree must be really tired. I hope this one is perfect.
To her surprise, it was. The skirt was knee-length and it flared into a million folds. It had a sweetheart neckline and the best part was that the dress was pink, her favorite color. This dress is perfect, she thought as she smiled at her reflection.
"So, how do I look?" She asked, coming out of the dressing room. Bree turned towards her. When Bree saw her, her eyes widened. Unable to stop herself, Bree thought, Damn! She looks hot. I should've looked at the dress more carefully. Aislinn missed her reaction because she was straightening her skirt. When she looked back up, Bree face was completely composed.
"Well?" Aislinn looked at her, expectant.
"It's OK." Bree said, unenthusiastically.
Aislinn felt a little hurt. She would have expected at least 'pretty' rather than 'OK'. Cheer up, I know this dress is perfect, she thought positively.
"Can we go already?" Bree asked, impatiently.
"Yeah, sure."
They walked to Aislinn's red BMW. At Aislinn's home, they started to dress up for the party. Aislinn's parents weren't home. That was probably good news. They would totally freak out when they saw how much stuff she had brought with her credit card. Her parents were pretty rich, but even they got angry when they saw her shopping bills. I'll worry about that later, Aislinn thought.
"How do I look?" Bree asked anxiously. Bree's voice was too anxious. Aislinn wondered which guy was it this time. She popped her head out of the dressing room. Bree was wearing a cocktail red, mid-thigh length dress with spaghetti strips. It hung on her curves perfectly.
"You look incredible." Aislinn said trying to sound enthusiastic. Personally she felt it was bit too revealing and Bree really put on too much makeup. But, that would probably make her angry and besides she wouldn't even listen to her.
Aislinn had been light on the makeup. A bit of eyeliner and pink lip gloss with a bit of face powder.
"What about me? Do look better than 'OK' now?" Aislinn asked.
Bree looked at her from her curled hair to her pink high heels. "Yeah, I guess so." Then with a toss of her hair she went outside. Aislinn just stared after her.
What was that about, she thought, amazed.

Blair roamed about the mall, aimlessly. She kept thinking about Aislinn. Reggie seemed really happy when he talked about her. A little too happy. Snap out of it, she thought angry at herself. So, what if he is. That is none of my business. But still the nagging thought that he might like Aislinn a lot was bothering her.
She tried to concentrate on buying herself some new clothes, when suddenly her eyes fell on the most beautiful dress she could ever think of. Wait a minute, when do I ever think about dresses anyway. She usually didn't ever think about buying a dress, but even she had to admit; that dress was perfect for her. It had a halter top with a knee-length skirt. It was made completely with black satin. It even had a silver belt with it.
It's perfect. It'll make any guy go nuts. Even Reggie, she thought and without even realizing it she walked into the shop.
I can't believe I'm doing this, Blair kept thinking, but ignoring her thoughts she brought the dress. She had only an hour, before Reggie came to pick her up. She quickly took a hot shower before she started getting ready.
**********************************************************************
Someone rang the bell and Megan volunteered to get the door. Nicole's parents had gone out to eat dinner, so it was only them at home. Nicole was in the bathroom trying on the dress Megan had brought her.
"I'll be out in second," she called.
Megan went downstairs and opened the door. It was Danny.
"Hi, Megan. Where's Nicole?" Danny asked even before coming in. He was looking around. Megan bit her lip, trying not to smile. What a guy, she thought. He sounded so cool and calm on the phone, but right now he is anything but cool. He must really like her.
"She's upstairs. Go ahead. First door to the right." Megan said. Nicole was probably dressed up right now.
He climbed upstairs. Nicole's bedroom door was open. It felt a uncomfortable to come in without asking. The room looked just like he had expected it to be. Neat and tidy. It had navy blue walls with a white ceiling and a balcony. In the corner there was self crammed with trophies and certificates hung on the wall. Even her queen size bed was made.
Suddenly the bathroom door opened and Nicole got out. She didn't notice Danny. She was looking down at her dress, nervously.
"What do you think, Megan? How do I look?" She asked, without looking up.
Danny stared at her. She looked beautiful. Just like he had imagined an angel to be. Her dress was off-white and made out of some tissue textured material. The skirt was just below knee-length and on her waist was a wide dark golden belt. Her long dark red hair hung loose and fell to her mid-back, waving slightly.
"Totally sexy." Danny blurted out, smirking at her.
Nicole's eyes widened. That voice is too deep to be Megan's, Nicole thought, hopping it was not who she thought it was. She raised her head slowly. She was right; Danny stood in front of her, staring at with a smirk.
"How dare you come in here without my permission," she demanded, feeling a bit self-conscious under his stare.
Danny blinked, snapping out of it. "I just gave you a compliment and I don't even get a thanks?" He asked innocently.
"Get out, right now!"
"Okay, okay. I'm going." He held his hands out in surrender. He turned around and walked to the door, but while getting out he said, "By the way, you look beautiful."
For the first time in her life, Nicole blushed going completely red. He did not, I repeat did not just make me blush, she thought. Did he? But when she looked into the mirror, she saw her face still red. She was thankful Danny hadn't seen her face like that.
Megan came in, smiling innocently. "Danny's waiting."
Nicole glared at her, she knew she had let him in on purpose. "Megan, you did not just let him in, did you?"
"Relax, Nicky. Come on, we've got a whole night of fun ahead of us. Let go!" Nicole tried to take in her enthusiasm, but she still felt like a nervous wreck.
"You're right. Let's go." Nicole forced a smile.
"Finally, you're both here. I thought you were going to leave me out her all night." Danny was outside leaning against his sleek black Ferrari. Nicole couldn't help stare at the car.
"Admiring the car?" Danny asked with a small but smug smile on his face. "You know, it's not that amazing."
"I know. It's okay, I guess." Nicole interrupted. His smile instantly vanished and he looked frustrated and skeptical instead.
"Come on. It's getting late." Megan said. She looked beautiful too in her midnight blue dress with below knee-length skirt. It looked perfect on her tall, slender frame.
Nicole was just opening into the back seat door, when Megan got in the seat instead of her. Before she could get in Megan closed the door, winking at her. Danny cleared his throat. He was opening the passenger door and then he gestured it with his hand, holding the door open. Now, she was frustrated. I might as well just get in or we'll never get going, Nicole thought. But no way I'm talking to him.
She got in without even looking at Danny. He got in and started driving. He looked at her sideways. She was staring at the dash-board stubbornly. She's not going to say anything, he realized. The silence was uncomfortable, so turned on the radio. Nicole glared at him. He was so annoying, he didn't even care that, she wasn't going to say a word to him! She turned the radio off. He didn't seem to care, he calmly turned on the radio.
Nicole turned it off. Danny turned it on.
Megan watched them in complete amusement. Who knew they could be so childish? But who cares, they would still make a cute couple, she thought. They didn't even notice her. It was like she wasn't with them at all.
Nicole seemed to quit. Instead she yelled at him, "Why don't you just let me turn that stupid thing off?!"
"It's my car and my radio. I can do anything I want with it," he replied smugly as he kept his eyes on the road.
"Aghh!" Nicole stared out of the window, frustrated. At first she only glared outside, then with start she realized how fast the car was moving. She nervously held on to her seat with both hands.
Suddenly, she saw another car speeding towards them in the opposite direction. She couldn't take it anymore; she screamed in fright. Daniel slammed on the brakes, alarmed by her scream. The car passed them, only a few inches away. Megan wasn't wearing a seat belt, so the force knocked her head on the back of Nicole's seat.
"Ouch! That hurts!" But no one even looked at her. They must be really worried about me, she thought sarcastically. Nicole was still screaming with her eyes squeezed shut. She was clinging on Daniel's arm with her face buried in his jacket sleeve.
Daniel winced. For girl, she sure is strong, he thought. His arm was really hurting him. Suddenly he realized that this was Nicole clutching onto him. On second thought, maybe this doesn't hurt so much, he thought.
"Nicole, calm down." He shook her gently.
"Stop the car!" Nicole cried, hysterically. Her eyes still shut.
"The car's not moving."
"Huh? It's not?" Nicole opened her eyes in surprise.
"No, it's not." Nicole turned towards him and she realized that her arms were wrapped around his arm. His face was only inches away from her. Her blue eyes staring right into her hazel eyes. He was slowly leaning in. Nicole felt herself leaning in too, almost as though she was in a dream.
It's a good thing they don't notice seem to notice that I'm here, Megan thought as she watched them intently. She felt thankful about that fact for the first time. Come on, just a bit more closer.
They were only an inch away when Nicole suddenly remembered Megan. She turned around, abruptly without thinking. "Megan, are you alright?"
Megan cursed under her breath. Great, now she remembers!
"Megan?" Nicole asked, not getting her expression.
"Huh?" Megan looked up. "Oh, yeah. I'm alright."
"Nice to know." Danny said, sarcastically. The sound of his voice made Nicole realize that, she was supposed to be angry and annoyed at him.
"Are we going to stay here all night?" Nicole demanded, looking at him.
"I'm driving and some people don't even appreciate that fact," Danny muttered, just loud enough for Nicole to hear. But she decided not to reply.
This time Danny drove more slowly. Soon a big neon sign that said "Hell Fire" appeared. The parking lot already seemed full. Just the sight of the place made Nicole's stomach flutter.
It was going to be a long night, she realized.

"This looks awesome!" Bailey exclaimed out loud. She was looking at herself in the dress. It struck her again how much it suited her. The apartment was empty; her mother was still not home. Blair wasn't too worried. This had happened before.
She was just in the process of putting on some eyeliner when the full picture of what she was doing hit her. She stared in the mirror again. The girl in the mirror was dressed up, her face lit up. But she didn't look like her at all.
I can't believe that I'm dressing up and wearing makeup just to impress Reggie. she thought, mentally swearing herself. How could she turned out to be such - a girl.
What the hell? At least, I look good, she thought, dismissing her girliness for one night. This night was going to be special. It was worth being a girl for once.
**********************************************************************
Reggie parked his car in front of Blair's apartment. He figured that since it was Bailey's birthday, a car would be better than walking. He wondered if Bailey would like his present. Bailey usually hated it, when he bought anything for her. But this time, I'm going give her a present anyway. he thought as he walked upstairs. It's not like I ever listen to her warnings anyway.
He opened the door, but he couldn't see anyone in the main room. Blair's bedroom door was slightly open, so he went inside.
"Bai-" he suddenly stopped. He blinked, trying to believe his eyes. This can't be real. I think I need glasses, he thought, his eyes so huge that it looked as if they would pop out.
But he could see it in front of him; Bailey was wearing a dress! Never, ever before had Reggie seen Bailey in a dress. She looks amazing, he thought.
Blair turned towards him. Stop staring, stop staring! Reggie's mind kept warning him. "Hey, I didn't expect you to arrive so soon," she said.
"Hey! Who are you and where's Bailey?" Reggie teased her, faking a demanding voice.
"Shut up, Reggie." Blair muttered, feeling a bit uncomfortable in the dress. Mostly because Reggie was looking at her. "Can't you be nice to me, at least on my birthday?"
"Um... Only for your birthday?" He pretended to think about it. "Nope. Not really."
Blair rolled her eyes. "Whatever. But, I really need to ask you. How do I look?" She hadn't even considered asking that, but it had kind of just slipped out.
"Alright, I guess." Reggie said with a shrug. But inside, he felt like he could stare at her all day. She looked a lot better than 'alright'.
"Just alright?" Bailey asked. She couldn't help but look anxiously into the mirror.
Reggie stared at her, he couldn't stop himself. She looks beautiful, his mind kept repeating like a broken tape recorder.
"Gorgeous." The word popped out of his mind.
"Really?" Blair said, relieved.
Did I just say that out loud? Reggie wondered. "Uh, yeah. Now can we please get going?" He said, trying to sound impatient.
"You go ahead. I'll just get my wallet," Blair said, looking around her messy room. Reggie nodded and went downstairs, while Blair finally found her wallet. She hurried downstairs, but it was a little hard in high heels.
Suddenly, she halt to stop. A jade green convertible was parked right in front of the apartment. She was confused, no one in the apartment could own that.
"Are you just going to stand like that or get in already?" Reggie's voice startled her. He opened the passenger door from his seat. Blair got in.
"This is yours?" She asked. She didn't even know he had a car. Suddenly she felt guilty; what kind of best friend was she. Great, first I become girly. Now I'm feeling guilty. What the hell is wrong with me? She thought.
"Yeah, I thought we'd take a drive there instead of walking," Reggie replied.
"I didn't know you had a car," she admitted. "Why don't you use it?"
"I like to walk. How do you expect me to keep my awesome body awesome if I drive around everywhere," he said, grinning.
Blair rolled her eyes and looked at him skeptically. "By the way, does this thing even work?"
"Of course, it does." He sounded a bit offended.
"Then let's get going!"
"Okay, but first close your eyes."
"What? Why?" Blair asked, suspiciously.
"Just close them. I promise no prank, but promise me you won't throw or break anything."
"Hey, I can control myself! Besides why would I?" Blair asked. Reggie sighed. It would take all night to convince Blair to close her eyes. He reached over to her and covered her eyes. With the other hand her reached inside his jacket and pulled out a small box.
Blair was completely shocked and she could've swore that his touch had sent sparkles into her. "Happy Birthday, Bailey," she heard him say. "This is something that reminded me of you." He removed his hand from her eyes.
Blair found her looking at a beautiful necklace in shock. It was a beautiful simple silver chain necklace with a pretty black stone, dangling in the middle. She took it out of the box and gazed at it.
A smile shone on her face. "It's beautiful," she said, enchanted by its simple dark beauty. "Thank you so much, Reggie!" Overwhelmed with emotion, she hugged him.
Her eyes widened as she realized what she had done. Instantly, she pulled away. Whoa! She thought. What is it me today? Maybe, this dress is making me way too emotional.
Reggie's eyes were just as wide as hers, in complete shock. He had expected a strong reaction from Blair, but not a good one. Strong but not bad, he thought.
He grinned. "If this is how you're going to react then from now on, I'm going to give you a necklace everyday!"
"Don't get your hopes up. It's my special day, but tomorrow I'm going back to my old mean self." Blair said, rolling her eyes at him.
"Aww, I like the new Bailey," Reggie said, teasingly.
"Shut up and help me put this thing on," Bailey said, handing the necklace to him. She twisted around so her back was towards him.
She felt his fingers brush the back of her neck. It made her feel the sparkles again. "It matches the dress too. I must have ESP or something," Reggie said, starting the car.
"Lucky me," Bailey said, holding the black pendant, while the street lights caused it to glitter. She didn't even mind the fact that Reggie had bought it. Tonight is going to be special, she thought with a smile.
